C7 EST | 14 Day AI Sprint·Day 0 | Kick-Off Call·3:28:00

Day 0: What an 'AI Generalist' Is, the 6-Level Roadmap, and How the 14 Days Run

Uthappa Program host - Senior Category Manager at Outskill on the AI research and initiatives team; hosts every day of the sprint, teaches no AI content herself

The short version

  1. The program's target is a 'T-shaped professional': keep your existing domain depth (79% of the cohort has 10+ years experience) and add AI breadth - an 'AI generalist' who is a 'native AI problem solver' able to automate and build agents 'irrespective of the domain.'
  2. Everything in the sprint hangs off a 6-level roadmap: (1) prompting fundamentals, (2) MCPs/RAG/local LLMs/voice, (3) image and video, (4) automations and agents, (5) product building by vibe coding, (6) a capstone. Sessions are deliberately NOT delivered in level order.
  3. Structure: Days 1-7 teach (weekday evenings 3-4h, full-day weekends), each as ~2.5h lecture + 1-1.5h muted breakout rooms on a pre-distributed workbook + Q&A. Days 8-11 are office hours that BUILD on week 1 rather than repeat it; Day 11 forms teams; Days 12-13 build the team product and the 'Jerry' multi-agent system; Day 14 is graduation. Then a year of Wednesday AI-update sessions.
  4. Mindset ask that recurs all sprint: 'keep that experience hat aside' - experienced professionals block their own learning by litigating why. Framed as a partnership with three honest reasons mistakes will happen: AI changes mid-program, the cohort is diverse, and 'there is no playbook.'
  5. For Paul: this is the ARCHIVE of a cohort that already ran (Jan 2026), so all 100 lessons are unlocked; the later Catalyst program he is in reuses several of these mentors (Harshit/Harshad, Cameron, Akhil, Dileep) and assumes this material.

The concepts

01

I-shaped -> T-shaped: what 'AI generalist' means here

Most of the room is an expert in exactly one thing. The program does not want to replace that - it wants to lay AI breadth across the top of it.

Three shapes: the I-shaped professional (deep in one domain, most attendees), the generalist (capable in many things, expert in none), and the target T-shape - 'capable in doing a lot of things and expert in 1 of them.' The AI generalist is defined behaviorally, not by tool lists: someone who can look at any process and automate it or put an agent on it regardless of domain.

The promised payoff has four parts - AI problem solving, applying AI across any task, becoming the workplace 'go-to person' for AI, and treating AI 'like a partner' - and two ways to cash it in: future-proof the current job, or build a side income through consulting, a small business, or a product.

Why it matters

It is the lens every later session is taught through - mentors keep saying 'you don't need to be technical, you need to be a problem solver.'

Go deeper

In one line: AI generalist = domain-agnostic problem solver who automates processes and builds agents; T-shaped = that breadth laid over existing domain depth.

Cohort: 6 continents, 30 countries, 79% with 10+ years of experience (l3185743 0:33)

I-shaped = one deep domain; generalist = broad and shallow; T-shaped = broad AND one deep (l3185743 0:40)

End skills: problem solving, cross-domain application, workplace go-to, AI as partner (l3185743 0:41)

Two monetization paths: future-proof your role, or consulting/small business/product (l3185743 0:42)

The 6-level roadmap that organizes the sprint

Fourteen days, six levels - but the days do not go in level order, so this map is how you tell where any given session sits.

Level 1 is fundamentals and prompt engineering ('how to talk to LLMs' - ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini). Level 2 is 'generic AI': MCPs, RAG, local LLMs, voice agents. Level 3 is image and video manipulation and AI cloning. Level 4 is automations and building AI agents. Level 5 is product building through coding (vibe coding). Level 6 is a capstone that solves a real problem with everything above.

The host is explicit that 'the sessions that fall under these levels might not be the same order to ensure a better flow' - so Day 2 is Level 3, Days 3-4 are Level 4, Day 5 is Level 2, and the badges learners unlock after each day carry the LEVEL number, not the day number (Days 3 and 4 both unlock 'Level 4').

Why it matters

The reflection/badge system in the LMS is keyed to these levels; knowing the map explains why two consecutive days award the same badge.

How the 14 days actually run (and why office hours are not reruns)

Two phases: seven days of being taught, seven days of being made to build.

Phase 1, Days 1-7: weekday sessions 7:30 PM IST / 9 AM EST for 3-4 hours; Saturday and Sunday are full days (10-7 IST / 9-6 EST) with two topics each. Every session is ~2-2.5 hours of teaching, a 5-minute break, then 1-1.5 hours in MUTED breakout rooms working a workbook distributed at least 24 hours ahead, with co-mentors answering in chat, then Q&A. Breakout rooms are not recorded (Zoom limitation) - a separate workbook-solution recording is posted instead.

Phase 2, Days 8-11: office hours that recap AND extend week 1 (Day 8 -> Days 1-2 clone/content work, Day 9 -> Days 3-4, Day 10 -> Days 5-6, Day 11 -> Day 7 vibe coding + MVP). Day 11 splits the cohort into product teams; Day 12 starts the team build; Day 13 (full day) builds the 'Jerry' multi-agent assistant in breakout rooms then continues team products; Day 14 is graduation. After that: a weekly 'What's New Wednesday' AI-updates session for a year (from Feb 4 2026), which is the Weekly AI Updates archive already in this KB.

The day topics as announced: D1 LLM fundamentals/prompting/RAG/local LLMs; D2 image+video (Jordan); D3 n8n automations (Akhil); D4 first AI employee - a customer-support agent (Harshad); D5 MCP - 'a USB hub' connecting apps to LLMs (Dileep); D6 AM voice agents (Matif as-heard) + PM 'Tech 101' for non-technical founders; D7 AM multi-agent 'Jerry' (Achin as-heard) + PM vibe coding with Bolt/Lovable (Cameron).

Why it matters

Knowing that each transcript = lecture + long muted breakout means the last 1-1.5 hours of every recording is mostly logistics; the KB records skip it.

For your projects

The 'Jerry' multi-agent build (Day 7 lecture, Day 13 hands-on) is the sprint's version of the personal-assistant agent Paul keeps circling in Catalyst OH XII; see ais-day07 and ais-day13.
