Meta Ad Budgets and Bidding: Daily versus Lifetime, Advantage+ Campaign Budget, Bid Strategies and a First-Campaign Recipe

Harshit Vadiparti AI consultant and ex-founder ("member of Forbes Technical Council"); narrates every module as a Meta Ads Manager screen-share

The short version

  1. Budget sits at the ad set (or campaign with Advantage+ campaign budget); bid strategy at the campaign (0:00).
  2. Daily budget is an average (screen: 350 average, 600 max, never more than 7x daily in a week); lifetime is a total with an end date. Start with daily (0:01-0:04).
  3. Bid strategy: highest volume is right for "90% of beginners". First campaign: daily ad-set budget, highest volume, 7-14 day window; give it 5-7 days before judging (0:06-0:11).

The concepts in full

01

Daily versus lifetime budget

Daily is the beginner default because it is easier to understand and adjust.

Type a daily figure and Meta averages it: the demo shows 350 rupees average, up to 600 on a good day, and never more than seven times the daily budget in a week. Lifetime lets Meta pace spend toward high-opportunity days but needs an end date - suited to a fixed promotion or event. Advantage+ campaign budget (CBO) instead sets one campaign budget that Meta moves between ad sets in real time; the trainer's advice is individual ad-set budgets first so you see where money goes, then graduate to CBO with several ad sets.

Why it matters

Budget type controls how fast and how evenly your money leaves.

02

Bid strategy: highest volume, cost per result goal, bid cap

"For 90% of beginners, highest volume is the right answer."

Highest volume (default) gets as many results as the budget allows. Cost per result goal targets an average cost - too low and Meta may not spend, too high and you overpay - and only makes sense when experience tells you what a good cost is. Bid cap is an advanced hard ceiling per auction.

Why it matters

Stops beginners constraining delivery before they have data.

03

A first-campaign recipe and the learning phase

how-to

"The learning phase always starts expensive."

Mistakes: a budget too small to exit the learning phase, changing the budget so often it resets learning, and panicking on day one or two.

Do it in this order
Why it matters

A safe default test you can run and read.
